This has always been my life verse. I don’t always understand why, but ever since I first read it, it’s like the words just popped out of the Bible.

What if, instead of living like it’s our last day on earth, we lived with the knowledge that we could have been, we should have been dead by now? What if we were prisoners, sentenced to a death penalty, all set to face the electric chair before one man took our place – saved us, died for us, took the punishment in our stead?
I can’t help but be amused at how we do tend to be ‘backseat drivers,’ even in our own lives and in our relationship with the Lord. We often say that Jesus is our Lord, but ironically, we don’t let Him govern our life, or at least not all of it.
